“Only by going alone in silence, without baggage, can one truly get into the heart of the wilderness. All other travel is mere dust and hotels and baggage and chatter.”

– John Muir, naturalist and preservationist

Thanks to visionary, vocal advocates like John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt, the U.S. National Park system was established in 1916 to preserve our natural resources for all to experience and enjoy.

Take Yosemite National Park, for example. Covering 1,190 square miles, the park offers a number of spellbinding sights, including its Upper, Middle Cascades and Lower waterfalls.

Visitors can take in the view from the top of the falls after a strenuous 6 hour hike – or less strenuously from several other vantage points, like a footbridge at the Lower Falls.

Have you seen Yosemite Falls up close and personal, wanderboomers? What was your favorite sight?

Excellent, Louise! Spring is the best time to see the Falls & Yosemite has several campground options to consider. Hope you can get there soon ~
